and without HL2 there wouldn't have been steam. Your point?
More like without Counter Strike there would be no Steam. Steam was basically first made to help ease the patch processes of CS and fist became available to download when CS 1.6 beta started.

Ever since it was released, they have been adding features non-stop.

Give it a chance tbh.
That's the thing, you don't go from one very well designed client (steam) which has improved over the years to a worse one with fewer features in hopes of it becoming better.

It's like declining a gift of a Car with the reply "Nah it's ok! I'll stick with this stone wheel in hopes of one day it being developed in to my own car..."

Steam as it is, is rich in features. Origin is in its infancy. It's a no-brainer.

If EA wanted to compete, they should have released a polished, rich-in-feature client so that it is the same if not better than steam from the start.

From the sounds of it - it seems like Gabe Newell himself came and defecated your front lawn and burnt your house down. No other reason to explain that inhumane vendetta there.

So because I think its silly to expect Origin to accomplish everything Steam has built up in its eight year lifetime, over the course of three-four months, I must hate Steam......

*sigh*

Yeah, you got me there buddy

I guess the near 100 hours I've spent playing the F1 2011 I recently purchased from Steam is evidence of that right? *facepalm*.

For the last time, the only difference between myself and people like you is that I can talk about Steam and any of its competitors without getting a hard on any time the word Steam gets used and without treating everything else that isn't steam like the new guy that keeps looking at your girlfriend who isn't even your girlfriend, but you're so obsessed that anything or anyone that gets closer to it than you is declared your sworn enemy.

Seriously, the deluded Steam fanboy thing needs to end already.

I refuse... I will not even pre-order BF3 tell it goes to Steam

I had to play on Origin through Alpha and Beta testing of BF3 but I refuse to play the full game on Origin.

Time will tell... i might change my mind
