Final Fantasy XIV Card

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I just installed this game the other day and have been enjoying it a tonne.

Unfortunately I cannot run it on high settings, the frame rates drop and I get horizontal tearing.

Based on the rest of my computer I point my finger at my 2GB 460 GTX SLI.

I will most likely be waiting for the next generation of cards for their power efficiency but was wondering how high in the current generation of cards do you need to go to max out this game on a single-card solution @ 1920x1200, if a single card can do it.

Thanks

Turn off Ambient Occlusion and Depth of Field, they wreck havoc on any gpu.

No single card could come close to running this on max.

With my sig rig I'm CPU bottlenecked on High/highest *gpu's working @ ~80%*

And there's still a few options I could turn up, and I'm only averaging ~20fps outside ~30 inside.

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Thanks for the heads up, looks like Ivy + high-end next gen gpu are gonna be the min for maxing this out then. Guess I can wait a while to get a single-card setup.

Yeah I just got this game about 2-3 days ago. My 570 gets brought to its knees from this game. I think Sockpirate has a Tri-SLI 580 setup, and he still couldn't get above 30fps with everything maxed out. Talk about the "Crysis" of MMORPGs.

Sent from my SAMSUNG Galaxy S using Tapatalk while driving under the influence.

My unlocked 6950 clocked at 925mhz couldn't do it, but other seemingly more detailed games look great. I think it has as much to do with awkward coding than the ability of the gpu. Just a guess though; no solid evidence to back that claim.

Personally my sig rig runs it fairly well. Not dips in FPS, nice and smooth. I doubt I'm getting any more than 45 FPS though.

Is there a way to check on FFXIV? Haven't seen any commands to show the FPS counter.
