[Various] Steve Jobs Was Ready For "Thermonuclear War" With Google - Page 17

Heh, lucky I wasn't here earlier.

All I can say is, Steve is really a cutthroat businessman as he literally wants to spend time and resources "crushing" Android. Fact is, the OS was in the works prior to the iPhone release and it was just ported to a touchscreen interface as Apple's device gained success. The core functionality of Android could have been easily the same whether it be as a Blackberry or Apple competitor.

The fact that Steve is very angry about Google speaks of his rival's gaining popularity and success. Well, that's what you get for open-licensing the OS to a multitude of OEMs and promoting both micro-scale competition (OEM vs OEM, manufacturer vs. manufacturer) and macro-scale competition (Google vs. Apple vs. RIM vs. MS).

Without Apple, the modern smartphone revolution would have come later, but Android would still exist as another iteration.
Without Android, Apple would have easily monopolized the smartphone industry and denied upstarts from competing.

It's Wozniak... And he never stole "a few thousand dollars" from him either. He made Woz rich. Are you even living in the same world as everyone else?

Again, he didn't steal anything. Learn your history. He paid the researchers who wanted to share it with him. They didn't have anything production worthy. They never gave him a line of code. He turned it into a working product.

The only one's who full of himself would be you thinking that you even know what happened. Not only DID he recreate Apple's success, Apple bought NeXT for 400 million dollars. You really have no clue what is going on.

Wrong again... He used his own money to build NeXT and it was a success. Developers were making a killing selling software for NeXT.

His other astounding success is Pixar. The other company he almost went bankrupt investing all of his own money in. We all know what happened to that company. Disney bought it.

Yet again, couldn't be further from the truth. Apple bought out NeXT because they wanted his OS. He wasn't hired as CEO before this. They re-hired him after every CEO that replaced him was a complete failure and the company was failing to come up with any innovating ideas. Gates' clone was taking off and the Macintosh had nothing going for it because Steve was no longer part of the company.

Now that's just purely speculation. You don't know whether he was refusing treatment or not. You're just making it up as you go... He never said he was "cured" of cancer. Cancer doesn't always just disappear forever. And anyways, what does his personal health have to do with his computing contributions? Nothing.

What is this crap? "probably resulted in someone else dying because he took their liver"??? You don't take someones liver. They donate it. People die and their organs are used for living people. He almost died waiting for a transplant. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Now you're just throwing random insults you made up as your argument? I've clearly been trolled into responding to you and I'm not even going to finish correcting the rest of you non-sense post.

Your understanding of history is so far removed from reality it's almost not even worth responding to your trolling and I'm sorry I even wasted my time on someone so ignorant of history.

2) As of 10/21/2011's close, Apple has a market capitalization of $365 billion. Google has a market capitalization of $190 billion.
Point #1: I have more cash reserves than the US. Almost every country on the planet is in debt. There is no true cash reserve when there is debt.

Point #2: There have been warnings about investing in Apple due to the artificial bubble. The problem now is that investors are discouraged from buying due to the artificially high stock prices, yet they can't start selling for fear of the bubble bursting and their losing billions.

That article is misleading you somewhat. Steve was recruited to work on Breakout for $700 and agreed to split that with Wozniak. After completion, Atari was so elated that they paid Steve a bonus of $5k that he didn't share with Wozniak. Morally correct? Perhaps not. Theft? No.

forgetting everything else, this above does point to a very greedy and selfish man. When your drunk on power and have millions in the bank its almost expected, but when your starting up and haven't been corrupted and your already treating other with no respect then there is a deep seated problem beyond business

sad all round. sad to discuss about phones all day long, sad that he probably spent more time at apple HQ than with his family (don't many bosses though!) sad that people try draw ridiculous comparisons.

Wozniak did all the programming and hardware design. Jobs was just a salesman. Who made who rich? The answer depends upon what you value more important.

I would pick on Jobs. He seems like that one kid who thinks he's above everyone else because he's smarter than the average person. He's conceited is what I'm trying to say.

Right. Because EVERYTHING the iPhone and iOS has, Jobs and Apple came up with on their own? The jailbreaking community fixed that busted operating system that is iOS. Apple simply took those ideas, implemented them into iOS, and said they made them. I want to rip Apple to it's core.

They just go whoever has the market.

At least Microsoft tried something different. Android is a blatant rip off, and I'm not even an Apple fanboy. I just call it how I see it.

All that work they put into multi-touch and the screen and how the phone work was down the drain cause Google just copied it.
There's only so many ways you can make a use-able mobile OS.

I'm amazed at how hard people will try to skew reality to try and fit their agenda. People clearly have some blind hatred of Steve and have no problem lying in order to justify that hate. It's almost as if they're so jealous of his success and envious of what's he done when they themselves have done nothing that they take out their frustration with themselves on other people.
