HD 6850 or GTX 550 Ti a better upgrade?

Thread Starter
Which is a better upgrade? a Gigabyte 1GB GTX 550 Ti, or a Powercolor 1GB HD 6850, at AU$149. I need an upgrade on my sig rig, because for gaming, the HD5450 sucks, bigtime frown.gif . I'm only gaming at 1280x1024 resolution, and not planning on trying to run BF3 at full settings or anything.

6850 for sure. I'd even look into some 460s before looking at the 550s

6850 is a better upgrade. I personally wouldn't buy a PowerColor GPU though.

Really? what's wrong with powercolor? I've not heard anything bad about them (well, no more than other brands).

Nothing particular. I only buy EVGA, MSI, Gigabyte, and Asus branded video cards. It's just my brand preference.
