Fan controller - worth it?

Is a fan controller actually useful? Do you feel like it is worth buying one just to monitor temps, adjust speed ect?
Im thinking of getting one but if it's not alot use, why bother?haha

Yes, it's worth it. However, I don't suggest getting one with temp monitors. Those temp probes are VERY annoying to manage.

It's great for tuning your fans to the exact performance to noise ratio that you like.

agreed, I have one with temp monitors but they're just for the cool factor. They are just probes that cant monitor actual temps because they're just taped to the outside of whatever piece of hardware. use software to read temps.

If you want 6 channels with PWM control you can spend a little more for this.

This, this, this.

Fan controllers are very nice if you have fans that are too loud at 100% or can't be adequately controlled by your motherboard. That Sunbeam is great for the price.

Get This one. More channels and more watts per channel.

Ill throw in my 2 cents

I just got my fan controller, and i love it. I do some mods on some cases and this one was for me, i wanted the cool factor, but i dident want it to go over to top

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811992005

What what i got, for 25-30 $ its a great buy, Some of the review are rubbish, it buring up etc... ignore that if you want,

Its a touch screen and its cheep, and it responds nicely..

It has temprature probes as well, you can go automatic and manual - you can turn them all the way off, or keep it at auto and place the probes

There is the factor that the probes wont give you the most accurate temps, and should still rely on software, but its nice for keeping it on auto, keeps the fans speeding up during high play volume or long stress test without much interaction...

I would highly suggest a fan controller, there are many out there, depending on if you want to keep it flashy or not.

just doing my part of the banjo band.gif
