What is it your not understanding about this topic, punching on your keys creating sentences doesn't help anyone . Only makes it more confusing for this poor kid to fix his computer.
I dont mean to flame you buddy, read first post.
ve a Compaq Presario SR5019UK, i have had it for a couple of years now but i decided to take it apart and put it all back together again... So after i did this it never turned back on again. I have a gut instinct that i have fried my motherboard with static from my hands because i never used a static wrist band or never used any static resisting material although i never encounted a shock from the motherboard. Will you please help me on this...
All i get is a amber power light and a green light on the PSU. Could you please get back to me ASAP on this post.
O and read post 8
first check the PSU...take a paper clip and with the power supply fully disconnected from everything put the paperclip into where there is a green wire (on the 20+4 connector), then put the other end into any back wire on 20+4 connector then plug in the psu/flip the switch on the back of the psu to on...check to make sure it powers on, the go from there
Reseat CPU, check all your connections, try changing sockets/power cords
and report back.
Thanks in advance.
ffejrxx sorry mate had to be said.
I'm leaning towards a expanded capacitor/s , being a HP board its not uncommon it'll be the caps around the cpu socket.
Turn the board over and look for any discoloration,
