Gentle Typhoon Question

Thread Starter
hey guys so i have a couple questions for my next build about these fans

so i know they have great static pressure, so that means they perform well when there is something in front of them.

my questions is if i put shrouds in between will that improve performance or not with these fans, i know i have some CM r4s and they work like a charm with shrouds???

shrouds like these

Shrouds help even out the airflow from the fan, almost all fans benefit from them.

I have a pair of home-made shrouds on my 240 with AP15s. Cuts down on noise a bit and eliminates the dead spot if the fan bullet. Will improve temps maybe a bit.

shrouds will increase there performance but in all honesty i just bought 3 GT ap-15s and they are awesome. they push so much air while being quiet that no shrouds would be needed but if you want increase pressure go ahead.

Depends on your radiator and setup.

1) Something like a Swiffy rad which has widely spaced wide water channels...not that much area of water carrying is obscured by the fan bullet.

2) Something like a Corsair H50/60/80/100...which has very narrow water channels narrowly spaced...you can recover lots of water-carrying-area with shrouds by eliminating the dead spot.
