I have to agree with Paradox, Doom, and Core. I can't see phones ever feasibly producing as deep of an experience as a dedicated handheld can in the near future, especially at such a price point. The cost of the PSP is 250 (300 for 3g). The average smartphone costs about 0-150 dollars depending on your employer or carrier's discounts, and that's if you get the 360 dollar a year data plan ON TOP of the plan for communications. All this to support a device with less power than a gaming handheld. I have a texting phone that came free with my plan for communication, and dedicated platforms for gaming. They are able to do their job the same or better, and have a much better value to price ratio in my opinion. The only practical or fun thing I really see people doing with smartphones that can't be done with a gaming handheld is browsing the web, and to me that's the point of them - a device for portable communication. I don't believe we should be comparing apples to oranges.
