Cheapest safe 1090T mobo for moderate OC

I'm looking to replace a M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 that's going in on an RMA, with a motherboard I can use a single GPU on in x16. Though my HD is Sata 3, afaik it doesn't make much difference at all and I wouldn't miss it, likewise for USB3.

Would one of the better 770's be safe to use? I do worry about mosfet overheating, which is a nice feature of the M4A88TD-V... at least it has a sink on them.

What about 870, those are totally safe, yes? Any recommendations for a sub $100 board? Should I stay away from any of the sub $75 versions?

Thanks,

The main thing to be safe is you want 8+1 power phase on the mobo. Heat sinks on the mosfets are good too. I think you would be safe with out the heatsinked mosfets for a moderate overclock.
Worse than crack.

I think I'll probably be getting a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3, since it's not much more than the 770's, 880's and 870's I've been looking at, plus it's AM3+ and true 8+2. Any opinions? Seems like a good deal for what you get, and just right for overclocking my 1090T safely.
