If so, paying a total of 180 for 3 games that are based off the same generation is kinda... ehh....

I guess it seems that they are taking the Half Life Episodes style. Release the game as thirds and call it HL3(if they did call it HL3, if not, you know what I mean.)

I understand that some people have reservations about paying $180 total for the three parts...but given the fact that SC2 took me about 15 hours to do the SP Campaign and it was THE BEST RTS experience I have ever had from a single player perspective...

...and then countless hours online, $60 is more than worth it.

CoD and other games have been following a similar model for years.

They said the expansions would be less than SCII itself. And yes see post above. I've played SCII probably 1000+ hours, for a messily $60.

Not to mention, I'm not sure if you haven't noticed but Blizzard DOTA was also announced today, using SCII engine. See the site for details.

I am skipping BF3, but CS:GO slightly intrigues me.

Looks cool and I really enjoyed SC2 however I cannot justify spending even 40$ on a few new units which don't look that great to be honest, the campaign looks good but again not worth spending 40$. Hopefully it drops in price but I don't expect it to.

Any games in SC series are worth it! SC2 FTW! Easily spent 200+ hours on this game for the last 4 months

Yet, people still pay $60 up front for WoW yet pay an additional $15 a month for as long as they planning on playing?

This isn't anything new to be honest.
