They'll probably be $400-500 dollars. Considering AMDs slip-up with their high-end performance in the CPU market they'll probably compensate in their GPU market.

I'd recommend waiting since you always run the risk of microstuttering with CF. The difference between high-very high aren't too major in BF3 if that's what you're worried about. If you spend a good bit of time changing stuff around like... less AA and more textures... or vice-versa you won't notice the difference.

You also have to remember things like more advanced tessellation which should be added.

If you really have a buyer's itch get something that is more multipurpose and transferable later down the road.

A single 6870 doesn't offer enough power; 6870's in CrossFire are a definitive NO due to micro-shuttering issues: http://techreport.com/articles.x/21516
