How to Overclock the A4-3300M?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone, my processor is currently going at 1.9GHz but I want it to reach 2.5GHz. Is there any good tutorials for this specific processor?

I've been trying to follow this tutorial but I don't know the specific way to set up my processor. Any suggestion?

Can't overclock laptops. The option is locked in the BIOS/UEFI.

As opposed of this thread.

So is the information of the thread false or useless?

I understand that my laptop has the ability to overclock automatically to 2.5GHz with something called TurboCore, but it really doesn't feel like it is doing so.

Yes you can, try using K10Stat its software based and works fine. I got my A6-3410MX at 2.6GHz stable.

Yea it works on the APU's http://sites.google.com/site/k10stat/

I tried it and asked this exact question because I know it's not running at 2.5GHZ even when I game, I checked the state of temp using Core Temp and when I use K10stat to overclock to the 2.5GHZ boost guess what? The damn thing reaches nearly 90C! I posted a thread like this one and it appears that's just to damn high, but then my question is HOW THE HELL WILL IT SAFELY USE THIS TURBOCORE? What is the damn thing supposed to just run 1 time every 10 seconds or something STUPID.

Anyways I saw someone that used a 1.1 vcore for the 2.5GHZ overclock and got it running at 70C or so, but I read that's a temperature threshold and AMD's are not meant to run that hot, so then overclocking = FAIL.

Anyways I bought 8GB more of ram and an intel 6300 wifi card, that's the best I can do for an upgrade. I had originally thought of replacing the CPU with an A8 but you know I have not the slightest idea of how to take the laptop apart so FAIL

When it overclocks to 2.5Ghz, it actually shuts down the other module so now only 2 of 4 cores (or 1 of 2 modules) are turned on, so less heat is produced. So in reality it isn't that much of a FAIL. But the FAIL part is, overclocking a laptop kookoo.gif

Edit: This is regarding the turbo core feature. If the guy managed to manually OC to 2.5Ghz and keep at 70C at full load he probably has better cooling on his laptop or a much lower ambient temperature.
