RAID... issues...

Okay, so I decided to enter my Lenovo's BIOS for the first time. I went to storage and noticed something. AHCI... what the hell does this do exactly? I also wanted to try and go into RAID1 but it told me I'd have to format the HDD(s) so I switched back to AHCI. Anyone know how I should approach this?

AHCI is the mode for your single drive.

The question is what you are trying to achieve. You cannot simply switch to RAID mode and magically your disks will run RAID. If you want to try RAID1 (mirroring), then you would have to let the controller wipe your drives to write the RAID info on them for it to work in RAID mode. There's no way around it

*Starts raging* And I do not have an external HDD with enough space to back up my computer... This pisses me off.

Erm.. no offence buddy, but I distinctly recall you trolling other posts claiming you knew everything about everything and that other people's suggestions were useless... and you don't even know what AHCI or RAID are? You've never even entered your BIOS?

I have never trolled. I have never claimed about knowing everything. I have never called anyone's suggestions useless. Either you are trolling (hypocrisy FTL) or are making up rumors (And with that rep I should not expect that from you). I do know what RAID is, I have for a good long time. I didn't hear of AHCI. And I have not enter this laptops BIOS as it was difficult to do so.
