so apply thermal paste to the top of the cpu and the bottom of the cooler? Or like under the cpu? becuase i didnt apply tim to any..

Well that might be the issue tongue.gif
I personally only apply Tim to one or the other, but never too much. Check out some vids online on applying Tim if you need them, which my guess is you might, since you didn't apply any to begin with tongue.gif.

I definitely suggest you watch more than a few videos and read up on applying it. You also need to make sure to clean the heatsink and CPU with some alcohol and some qtips to make sure it's clean. I were at home to find you some links, sorry

If I remember correctly the stock HS has that thermo tape crap, I would also suggest you save /spend 35-40bucks and buy a aftermarket HS

Wow... Just wow. The intel coolers do leave a lot to be desired, but unless your running with a decent OC and stress testing I dont even see them getting this hot.

The coolers do come with a thermal grease pad that will melt and often reseating after it has melted you will just get air bubbles which will give you less cooling performance. With that said follow the advice of others and clean that paste off and reapply. I have not been into air cooling in a while nor built an air cooled pc in at least a year, but there are some decent air coolers out there packaged with good-great quality tim for only an extra 20 or so bones than you would pay for a tube of good tim. That would be the route I would personally go...

Also you might want to make sure that your pins are correctly placed, as I just have a hard time believing that even the stock cooler would give you those temps without OC.

Intel CPU's are the ****... Their cooling solutions however you already had that right.

Okay so i got an update.
I got thermal paste and put it on the TOP of the chip (under the heatsink)
Now im at this.

Jumping from 75-85.
Should i clean off the thermal paste UNDER the chip and reaply thermal paste again? sorry for so many questions i just dont want to wreck my cpu.

Keep in mind i've never overclocked.

Wait, wait, wait. When you say under the chip I hope you're not talking about where the contacts are. I hope I'm reading this wrong.
