@David,

But wouldn't you assume that with intels such "high quality" processors, they would give you at least a half decent cooler? considering im not overclocking also.
My amd never went over 40 hahaha.

TJ Max is the accurate max temp for the CPU?

98 degrees? That seems kinda high. I read 72 degrees is max. What is the go here? TJ Max ok?

I hate this stupid stock cooler I'm using till my thermal paste arrives. Sitting at 50ish and getting 60ish under load.

Are you sure the heatsink is secured properly? Those Intel stock HSF's can seem to be secured, when they actually aren't. My buddy had that issue with his i5 760, he was telling me it got up to 88-90C after a few minutes of gaming. I went over to his place, and actually secured the HS, and it lowered his temps like 30C.

Im pretty sure, the fan runs and everything , if i twisted the rods any harder they would snap off.

Yeah. I thought mine was, but it wasn't. I didn't have it while it wasn't secured, but, as a tradesman I just had this feeling that something wasn't quite right...

EDIT: Twisting the locks does not tighten the HS, it just locks it. You need to make sure the twist locks are fully depressed and locked under the board. I had to do 2 at a time, if I did one, then the other, the lock on the opposite side would pop off.
