Upgrade Mobo+CPU or....

Ok well I was thinking about upgrading my Mobo (MSI p67a-g43) to a MSI z68-gd80 (G3) and then get ivy bridge when it comes out. I already have a 2600k @4.5ghz though. Will it be worth the upgrade? I wanna upgrade the mobo anyways for Intel SRT. So my question is....Should I A) Upgrade the Mobo+save up for Ivy Bridge . B) Upgrade mobo+ 60gb SSD for SRT and get an H100 for cooling because my H70s idle temps are @ 40C and load @ 70C. C) Do none my PC is good enough. Also I only have 130$ and I will have to sell my old monitor for 60$, my HD PVR for 150$ ( I use to console game) and my surround sound so I will be losing some stuff for this upgrade. Is it worth it?

at this point, no. in fact, considering that most benchmarks and predictions put ivy bridge at around 10% better (up to 30% on certain applications, but its mostly in the 10-15 range), i don't think a processor upgrade would be justified.

it sounds like you are on a fairly limited budget, and if you start upgrading every time a new generation is released, you'll find yourself in a spiral of cpu/mobo upgrades that becomes much more expensive than it needs to be.

the 2600k should last you at least through ivy bridge. i would hold off a year or so to see what intel will do post-IB.

as far as cooling is concerned, that is an investment that will last you much longer than the cpu. dunno if the h100's will be compatible with lga 2011, though, so you'll want to look into it. in any case, the cooling will be worth it, AND be within your budget...you won't have to sell all your other toys to get it =D
