this is just plain idiocy at its finest.

@ OP - hmm, i love my 8xxx series samsung. i know it can do all those things and the screen/build quality is magnificent. the edges are thin, the tv is thin, has built in everything i could need and don't need (lol). i doubt apple could've innovated past what samsung has already done.

what could apple have done. built in 'N'. seamless sync with iTunes and other apple products. iCloud. xOS5. not sure what they could've added O.o

Look at ipod. Now at ipad. Now imagine same, just 42" and not touch.
That is all, there is no other tech from apple.

Don't forget to remove all blu-ray option, dvd, receivers and what else. Those will be simply, without those smart remotes (retardation?) so no options at all. Play, stop, on/off. Enough, that is enough.
iOS will choose what channel you want to watch and what movie is good for you. You will obey, no questions asked.

We already have overpriced Tvs. They're called Sony's

Next thing you know, they are going to sue companies whose TV looks like theirs but only 5 years before the Apple TV was ever pushed to market.

Well, quite a lot of companies actually. Not many want to develop games on the desktop Unix platform as they won't be able to turn over a profit.

Please take your ignorance somewhere else.

You have to be joking. He is doing no inventing of the TV here.

Engadget just posted a video of Jobs talking about why everyone has failed so miserably at making a better TV experience. He makes a quip about Google that's startlingly accurate given how long ago he said it. The long and short of it is that no one will succeed in changing the TV until the set top box that we all use is fundamentally torn up and changed. Worth watching because he's right.
