i think i got a bad Llano need help

ok so i built a new htpc using these parts

A4 3400
2gigs cheap ram
asrock A75M-ITX
2tb seagate greendrive
cheap case with 150W PSU

my problem is if i run any type of stress testing it will fail on stock settings... tested it by changing ever part i could one at a time from my sig rig. it boiled down to either the cpu or the momboard so i bumped the vcore up and that didnt work so it had to be the board i thought. googled it and 99% was all bad motherboards and "cpu's are never DOA" type stuff...

i returned it to newegg and picked up an asus F1A75-I. got all excited put it all back together, fired it up, ran prime instant fail on small fft just like before

its always the same core always right away no matter how much i underclock or overvolt.... the thing is though im on it right now hasent crashed and seems to do everything fine except stress test. is there something im missing? and sorry for the book of a post lol

i said i replaced all the parts i could (including my 650 watt)from my sig rig one at a time to narrow it down. trust me this htpc isnt pulling more than 150

I'm thinking the same thing. Try an out-of-case test with your 650 watt psu and see what happens, unless you've already done that. 150Watts seems a bit on the light side, even for a llano build. Phadeus's PSU calc program says that the build will be pulling 200 watts even (2 stick of RAM, 1 HDD, 1 Optical drive, and two case fans; gets the same results even with just 1 RAM stick and an HDD).

Edit: just saw your second post

Linky? I've had DOA boards before, and I'm sure that there are faulty cpus too. If it's only ONE core that isn't working, which it is, then you might have a faulty cpu. BTW I like how you wrote momboard instead of motherboard, classy.

edit: have you tried raising and lowering clocks for specific cores?

the 99% thing was more of a common theme of the million things i read about the subject lol

edit: and yes its always core#0 everytime it will run blend for about 5 min give or take then fail. but small fft will crap out instantly. so it looks like cpu to me. only thing is i used icdimond on it and i think it wore some of the markings off

It does sound like the CPU due to small fft, but I would run memtest86+ to rule out the memory and be safe.
