This.

Our title says it all: "In pursuit of performance". So the obvious advise would be to reconsider a BD purchase and look into other options including AMD (pre or post, hopefully, BD).

because everybody see's the negatives and not the positives.

as i stated before and will state again

is the glass half empty or half full.

the point of the question is: are you an optimist(positive thinking) or a pessimist
(negative thinking person)

That entirely depends on how you use the cpu, for some BD offers some good improvements, are those universally applicable to every user, no.

So buy what suits your needs regardless of which manufacturer makes it.

Please state the positives? I don't see many advantages with price or performance. If you're gonna spend $200+, there's no reason to go AMD FX series. It's not being negative, it's being real. Don't take this wrong and let your AMD feelings get hurt.

lots of video encoding, code compiling and other non gaming activity's that fit into the BD design profile.

So BD can work for some users, maybe not so much for others.

It actually does excel at some tasks very well.

buy what fits your needs.

if thats a i7-2600, go for it.

Problems with BD:
It's a year late
It has horrible single-threaded performance
It has meager multi-threaded performance compared to competition
It has horrible load power efficiency
It's apparently optimized to run on Windows 8's OS Scheduler
It's optimized for a server platform but was prematurely released into the consumer market without tweakings (Hence AMD's working on their B3 stepping)

It's not quite surprising that AMD's taking a beating over it since 95% of the worlds population are spiteful bastards looking for the next big thing to use as an excuse to hate.

Imop, there's a reason the AMD CEO jumped ship a few months back.

says who ? some outside the company pundits. without a internal road map we have no idea how accurate that is.

Thats not true in all workload types.

relative statement

likely the other way around. We cannot confirm this, but given the stated development period of the cpu, I'd bet it came first.

More conjecture without substantiating evidence except for the server market, the CPU is throughput oriented.

Its taking a beating because people act like immature idiots. People got themselves whipped up, AMD marketing likely fed this a bit and today there is a PR nightmare becuase grown adults are acting like children about a CPU.

Don't buy it if you don't like it.

You have to admit, his dedication and will to never say die carried over well from the bulldozer blog.

I will admit the "bad performance" quotes is just me generalizing test results, as hateful as it sounds and that I don't remember AMD's roadmap off the top of my head. However I'm pretty sure that BD's release was massively DELAYED due to Global Foundaries issues and development delays.

According to Anandtech however, AMD themselves claimed that Windows 7's OS scheduler couldn't not efficiently spread the tasks as a small but somewhat inconclusive test was done.

If you claim my words to be conjecture you're more than welcome to back it up and shove it in my face for the added satisfaction.
