What's the point of paying $280 for a FX-8150 when it's no better than a $180 1100T and yet consumes more power? Plus you might get one that has BSOD issues even @ stock speeds (a problem confirmed by AMD).

http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/11...u-updated.html

If you want to stay with AMD, go for an 1100T. Otherwise, 2500K/2600K is a no-brainer. you might take a slight loss if you sell your board and get a Z68 board, but it could be worth it if CPU performance is important to you.

I would just do the 1100T and wait for Piledriver, im sure AMD will have it figured out by then.

Go for a 1100T it uses less power and benchmarks show that the 1100T is eequal or better than the 8150.
You could get the 1090T it ill do the same 4.1Gg and save a few dollars.

Most benchmarks I have seen were stock, No overclock. You will be lucky to get 4ghz out of 1100t but I bet you would get closer to 5ghz with fx8150. Then I would like to see a comparison.

My old 1090T was able to do 4GHz without hassle.
Newer 1100T should be able to do 4.2GHz.

I got a 8120 for $220 and have been more than pleased. I was in a similar situation as you: my rig died, and i had to make a choice. I got a 990fx, and decided to wait for BD. Im in the process of overclocking one voltage stepping at a time. Currently at:
3.9ghz @ 1.3v

Lucky to get 4GHz? You're sorely misinformed. I can get my 1100T stable much higher than that.

As to the OP, based on reviews I would recommend the 1100T. It's a time tested solution that is benching right around it's supposed replacement for a lot less money, not to mention it has no BSOD issues. Love my 1100T and until SBe comes out I wouldn't go to anything else.

The way I see it, if Bulldozer is designed for the future and I won't see any benefits until the future brings us systems capable of taking advantage of it, I see no reason not to get a Thuban now and wait on Bulldozer. I guarantee you that the prices will be a lot better by the time software catches up. You aren't missing anything enough to justify paying the introductory prices.

(Notice how I only included the CPU's the OP actually MENTIONED.)
