How do you back up your laptop?

How do you backup your laptop?

I just ordered a new laptop. It comes with a two drive RAID configuration.

So ... since it has RAID factory configured with the two hard drives it will not be possible to install another hard drive and create a drive to drive backup image. So what is the best way to create a backup image of the RAID array?

Windows 7 has one built-in. I'm sure you can prob find better but I'm not too familiar with them.

Thanks for the reply Affinity.

I hear the image made by win7 takes up way too much space.

So it's a question of Acronis or Ghost. Regarding Ghost, I think I read somewhere the Corporate Edition is better than the single user edition. I'll have to hunt that info down unless someone has first hand knowledge and posts the info.

And will the imaging software work with RAID.

I forgot to say ....

I want to back up the VIRGIN STOCK OUT-OF-THE-BOX hard drives before I mess with them.

I want to really screw around with the out of the box OS to the point where I most likely will break it and corrupt it.

So I want a virgin image as well as incremental images of the systems hard drives.

My new laptop just arrived.

Can any comment on the F3 Function?

It seems if I do a F3 recovery, factory defaults will be reset after a complete reformat of the 'C' drive.

Is that the out-of-the-box recovery image I'm looking for?
