How to increase Sapphire 6950 voltage???

Thread Starter
I desperately want 1000 mhz core, but can only get 975 stable on 1.16v using sapphire trixx, unfortunately trixx doesnt go higher than 1.18.

AMD overdrive only offers a power percentage (*** is that) up to 20% but not a voltage increase.... any ideas?

btw MSI afterburner doesnt recognise the voltage on my gfx card -.-

edit: is there a way to change limit on sapphire trixx? 1.18v seems unreasonable -.-

You always can try to edit the BIOS voltage if the card allow you to flash. Edit only the voltage and any other things you modify will crash or BSOD.

Edit the VID4 value to say 1.18v using RBE http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1962/TechPowerUp_Radeon_Bios_Editor_v1.28.html then save the edited BIOS and flash from DOS bootable pendrive using "atiflash" http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2040/ATIFlash%203.89.html

Avoid using Winflash to flash within Windows.

would flashing my bios to say an asus 6950 2gb bios work? i think my GPU is limited in Trixx because its sapphire and not showing up in aferburner because its sapphire

Try different version of Trixx, I think it should give you higher than 1.18v.

Don't flash with Asus BIOS. I think the BIOS you can edit is the scond BIOS. Have you tried both BIOS?

My question is how the heck are you stable at 965 using 1.16? I have the same card and I stick to 900/ 1.18

Just wanted to ask about the MSI afterburner voltage control. It is not there by default, you have to go into settings, then to the general tab, and under Safety properties check the two boxes:

Unlock voltage control
Unlock voltage monitoring

Then restart the program. If you've done this, then disregard.

I got lucky i guess :/ i heard people get to 900 at stock...

btw guys using an older version of trixx didnt work they all left me stuck at 1.18v, also in MSI afterburner it doesnt matter if i unlock voltage or not, the voltage isnt even displayed, afterburner doesnt recognise it :/.

Would using trixx in conjuction with 15% power from CCC get me better results?

Edit: going to try Afterburner 2.2 beta 8. tried afterburner 2.1 and 2.2 beta 7 so i doubt this will change anything
Edit2: as i suspected, didnt work frown.gif max is still 1.18
edit3: trixx in conjuction with CCC did nothing for stability
