HD555's Major Cracking

Thread Starter
This has been getting worse and worse over the past few months. I noticed the cracks starting but since there's not much I can do about it I really didn't think much of it.

Anyone know if there's anything I can do to fix this? Or stop it from getting worse? Does Sennheizer do RMA's?

Before you go blaming me for mistreating the headphones take a look at the pics. That's both sides in the same area, stress from putting them on and taking them off your head I presume.

I treat all my stuff with care and these things have never been thrown around or mistreated. I can't believe I paid almost 200$ for these a year ago and this is the quality I get.

I swear if these things break to the point where I can't use them anymore I'm taking pics and making a massive thread showing true Sennheizer quality. Then I'm gunna buy myself a pair of AD700's and never look back.

Its pretty normal for that to happen. I have 2 pairs and both have cracks. But i took one apart and noticed that inside its held by a screw and so its ok. Yes sennheiser does rma. Just a quick question. Where did you buy it for $200? I got my both pairs for about $90 each.

I believe they were actually 150$ on sale on a dell website. This was before they dropped in price that much everywhere else. When they released the HD558 and 598 the HD555's really dropped in price. I've had these for a while.

Glad to know there's a screw there holding the "phone" part in place. Still a bit disappointing.

I got my first pair last year in november for $90 off of amazon.... If you want to you can contact sennheiser and see if you can get a new pair. usually they send out refurbished.
EDIT!!!
Do you ever wrap the cord around the cups or where you can adjust the elevation of the cups?
Do you use them outside? Like walking, running etc..?
Ive heard of some people putting super glue in the cracks. Ive never had to do that because it never got that bad.
