So recently i purchased gta 4 on steam. When i started the game the fps was something around 1-10 fps.I have changed all of the settings to low but still extremely low fps.Ive seen people get 50+ fps on max on gta 4 with the 560 ti?
I have also searched everywhere and have not found anything.

did you recently switch from an ATI card? When I went from a hd4850 to my old gtx470, I noticed horrible FPS in GTA4 until I uninstalled the old ATI drivers.

GTA4 is well known to be terribly coded for the PC. Apart from a few patches that have been released, you'll have to suffer with it's terrible optimization.

Hmm, maybe try running driver sweeper, I had uninstalled the catalyst uninstaller using appwiz.cpl and it missed pretty much all the driver files. I used driver sweeper, and then my FPS stabilized. I was getting jerky gameplay in other games outside of GTAIV, but that was one of the worst, that and Fallout 3 both ran horribly until I ran driver sweeper.

Well right, but 10fps out of a gtx560ti? That's not right, there is something else going on here.

The icenhancer ones were great for me, game looked alot better and only took a small dip in FPS. Reflections in the rain, Textures, Car paint all looked good. Lighting looked so good too!

I get around 51FPS average with a OC'd 460, though I run out of VRAM at 1080p, the mods chew through it!

With a 560Ti you will get about 20%~ more FPS if your i5 Dualie at 3.8ghz can handle it, which it should. smile.gif
