In addition, even at 3.8, your CPU may be bottlenecking, as games don't take advantage of hyperthreading. GTA 4 loves quads and even mine is pegged at 70-80% most of the time with one core pretty much at 100% all the time.

I agree, he should definitely be getting higher fps than he is. With my old gtx470 I would also see around 40-50, I think. It's been a while since I've had the game installed. Downloading now to try out. I wanted to re-dl the game just to bench it on my new card.

Regarding the CPU, GTA 4 does love the quad core, but do you think it would cause such low performance? I wouldn't think so, I think there is something else going on regarding the OP's performance. Now that I am downloading the game, I am interested to see how my i3 530 stacks up against my 2500k in this game though.

It seems the fps rised after i used the icehance mod smile.gif
Is their any other mod that is similar to this one but with less "Effects" ? I think their is too much bloom in the icehance mod
