I am trying to choose between 2 psus I can get them both for virtually the same price

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703027

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...er%20XT%20775w

which would you choose?

I know one is modular

but which one is better over all

Quality, ripple ect...
the Silencer has an 80+ silver rating but JonnyGuru.com
says the Thermaltake should basically have an 80+ silver

I'm gonna use it to run a phenom II 4x (Hope to one day upgrade to a 6x or perhaps BD) 3-4 HDD and right now a single hd5770 (perhaps crossfire one day...)

so thoughts?

First thought, Phenom II x4 + 5770 + mobo/hdd/odd/etc ~ 250W, why do you need a 750W+ power supply?

Second thought, the XT x75 are excellent units, the PCP&C MKII are below the XT x75 units while still being solid options.. the Silencer 760 is a better unit than the MKII 750 and that's what you should compare the XT 775 with.

You are way overdoing it with either of these. An ocz fatality 550w , or rosewill hive series 550w would be more than plenty for crossfire on that rig, if you want modularity, solid internals, 80+ certified and half the price.

I would chose Seasonic. Build quality is astounding.

What do you mean by this, and over what would you chose Seasonic?

Do yourself a favor and get this Seasonic X 560 if you're willing to spend 112$

Over everything. All the benches/stress tests I've seen of their units have been really good. They have a good warranty, great rating, high quality components. I love my 560 but if I did it over I'd probably get at least a 650/660. Or probably the 860 Platinum once it comes out. A lot more money but it's so sexy!

You were referring to build quality initially, and there are other OEMs who easily pass Seasonic in this regard.
As far performance goes Seasonic is there at the top, not the best and by no means alone and like every other OEM out there they too can make trash.

Well, if it has to be the PCP&C vs the TT, I'd choose the TT because I prefer CWT over Sirfa/HighPower.
