You asked if anyone knew if a Xeon CPU would bottleneck your 560 Ti SLI configuration. All you got was people calling you names ('Hipster' and the like) and telling you you are wasting your money, just buy a i5 2500K.

O M G! Someone wants to try something different! How could they?!?!? Just buy everything we buy because we have the best stuff there is and all your junk is crap.

Welcome to OCN, the new version.

Here's a run of some benchmarks where the Xeon E3 1230 outperforms the i5 2500K in most applications they test and has a lower power consumption. Obviously all at stock settings.

In a quick search I can't find any benchmarks for gaming with a similar Xeon to the one you mentioned.
Thanks for actually reading my post, +rep.

I found that link earlier, but it had zero game benchmarks

You should be able to reach around 105MHz BCLK on a good board easily enough. Anything higher will be hit or miss.

Supposedly the 2500 (non K) has a maximum turbo multiplier of 40x for all cores. So if that's true, then you MIGHT be lucky and get a 40x out of the Xeon too. But don't hold me to that, that's just what I've heard a while back.
Why would I want one that ends in 5? They have the on chip GPU and are 95 TDP instead of 80. E3-1240 looks like the winner to me, its even cheaper than a 1245.

Because they also have AVX instruction sets, whereas the ones that end in 0 do not.
