Thanks for the comments guys. Had to grab some sleep, I had a found more parts for my external refrigeration unit. I'll post pics of gear shortly.

Spray putty has had time to harden. Using 400 grit wet and dry rubbing it back till you have a glass like finish.

I have to go get some prep wash, before I can start top coat.

SUBSCRIBED! Wow, you've gone to a lot of effort in preparing the reservoir mount, I can't wait to see the final coats applied. Keep posting pics (as time consuming as it is)!

How do you think the final paint job will turn out compared to getting it powder coated?

This is my side project, this is something more of a curiosity project. The compressor is a 12v unit.

I've been playing around with this for quite sometime, before I started this project. This is what made me start this build.

This unit will be completely external and dis connectable, I'm going to custom fabricate a condenser. Pretty simply put Im going to have a coil within a coil. One coil for the gas one for a passing water thru. It will be a standalone unit as will my Computer build. I'll have external quick disconnects existing my case allowing to connect the refrigerated coil. One of my mates is a air con mechanic and we've come up with 5 designs on making a efficient Insulated glycol bath so to speak.

I'll use this unit for overclocking and benchmarking. I do plan upgrading my board/cpu/ram just want to wait to see whats around the corner. Just think as it using water to water cooling. I will keep you guys posted with this.

I do welcome flamming over this, Im not building my case around this I'm building both to meet in the middle. Software controlled thermo stats . As I said this is something I've been toying with for awhile finding a suitable compressor was the hard part.

Getting ideas on how to make coils.

The compressor unit is 260mm x 150mm by 180mm H.

I'm going to continue my build as normal but here and there I will give updates. Im trying to source copper bends outside of Australia and working on fin designs which I will have cut with the appropriate computer aided machine. Then I will get busy making a heavily insulated fiberglass wrap around which the coils wil sit in. I have hours and hours experience with fiberglass and molding .

I've got a bit to do today so but i'll do the write up while waiting for paint to dry.

When wet and drying any top coats (colors) it's really important to use a constant flow of water. Keep your wet and dry paper clean. Never use the tips of your fingers on wet and dry, you use the "middle phalanges" of your fingers. Google it .

Heaps of water and sanding in a small slow circular motion . Asif your making a 10mm circle.

I had no idea how this was to be to put into words

Large flat areas use a small block but still using small circles.

Wax and Grease remover is so important, it's also called prep wash. It removes any surface contaminants before painting.

Wipe one way only, so you dont cross contaminant your painting surface. Use only 100% cutton rag.

Normaly after this stage I would let the paint harden for a few days in the sun. Then wet and dry with 1500 wet and dry just to take the shine off.

Prep wash again apply a clear coat, The clear coat will restore the gloss in your color .

Im not going t worry about doing this because I've achieve a uniform gloss perfect finish with having to do this due to the amount of time I spent prepping.

This project has just become alot bigger. Im not happy with alot of things iin the case. So im going to remove all the insides and fabricate new iner frame.

I already have plans to add a 2x120mm radiator .

I'm going to respray the case, but i wont be using spray packs i'll use my spray guns and use 2 pac paint.
