When measuring inside corner, grind the corner out of a rule or in this case one corner of my set square.

Most of us are late night modders because we work during the day, or we juggle kids and a nagging mrs. Working late at night with a dremel is painful for the neighbors and your own household.

I always work late at night, only peaceful time I get and I find modding relaxing.

It is very possible to work with steel and achieve professional results without a dremel/grinder.

The answer is a jig saw and a simple bench hook like this. Keep your metal clamped tight as possible and as close to the cut. Minimize any chance the metal vibrating. I have pain in the arse neighbors noise is a no go for me after 7pm. I can work till when ever I like using pretty much only whats in the pics below.

You cannot beat a good set of files, I mean a good set dont buy a 2$ set spead about 20$ on each file. You'll learn much needed tools along the go, I love dremels just as much as everyone but to me years and years of tooling experience the dremel is the last thing I reach for . They are expensive to keep changing bits. All Im saying is if you want to expand your modding skills pick up hand tools.

100$ worth of files, Top to buttom square, half round, round rats tail, flat barstad, and another two half rounds. These aren't thier technical names, KISS (keep it stupid simon) .

With simple filing methods which it will cover, like draw filing you can turn a poor cut into a perfectly straight cut.

Anyone volunteering to read and fix my punctuation ? Forum admin? lol

Yea, having a dad who owns thousands of dollars in tools, some older than I am, im surprised that ive only seen one person in over 4.5 years use a pair of tin snips instead of a Dremel.

I love my snips, but I dont like using them on 0.95mm steel. Hand nibblers are great.
