4 6970's? Gonna be playing two games of BF3 at the same time? Dang.

You'd be just fine with two 6970's I'm sure. Or get a 580 like you said, or SLI 570's.

Scaling on ATI's side is fantastic! I'd stick with them personally. Im sure 4 6970's could be 2 of those classy cards

4x 6970s at 1080p? Lololololol. You trollin hard son. I mean in terms of raw performance 4x 6970s beats 1 classy gtx580 by a decent amount. I really don't see much reason to get the GTX580 over the 6970s. That extra gig of vram may be helpful if you do eyefinity/surround, but you'd have to buy another 580 to do that anyway. Now you're looking at $1600 for what you could do with $800.

I'd just cancel two orders of those cards. Two 6970's will max out every single game, I'd bet on it.

Save your money and get some watercooling or something.

Four 6970's wouldn't be that great.
Just like CrossfireX 5970's/6990's.

Not much supports 4 GPU's and the ones that do, do so very poorly.
Many games have glitching/tearing issues too.
The sweet spot is 3 GPU's.

Tri-SLi 3GB GTX 580's are the king, and 6990+6970 Tri-Fire setups are popular as well.
I'd very interested to see how Tri-SLi 2.5GB GTX 570's would do if they made them.
