help in overclocking AMD

I would need your help regarding overclocking. Im just a newbie and please bear with me. I have tried reading guides regarding overclocking but Im really confused on how to get it done. If there would be someone kind to help me overclock my computer I would appreciate it.

I tried overclocking my processor AMD athlon x2 250 3ghz using the click switch in my motherboard MSI gf615m p33. At first I was so happy because it worked for me from 3ghz to 3.59 ghz and its really a boost for my system. I checked pc temperature using core temp idle when overcloked is 36-40 degrees and when playing games 60 degrees. The problem is when I play games like witcher 2 and nba 2k11 after 5-10 mins of playing a blue screen of death would appear and it would shut off my computer. I returned the switch back to normal from the motherboard and BSOD would no longer appear. My problem is I dont know how to overclock using BIOS. I would need to overclock because my processor is bottlenecking my GPU reason why I need to get my speed more than 3ghz. Someone please help.

AMD Athlon x2 250 3gz processor
4 gig 1333 kingston memory
MSI gf615m p33 motherboard
evga GTX 460 1 gig videocard

If you need some more info please let me know.

The reason you are getting the BSOD is because your system has become unstable. Its not necessary your processor but could also be RAM or one of the motherboard components. I'm not very familiar the OC button and what it changes but it is usually much better to do it from BIOS. Most boards you have to push the 'Del' key while it is booting up to get into the BIOS. There are lots of guides around for AMD overclocking and they should be the most help.
