What if I want to lightly overclock? LOL. I do want to OC I just don't want to kill anything.

Also... wouldn't the 95W aspect be a little more forgiving on my motherboard? Even though it's 140W CPU TDP rated.

Just get whichever you can afford, and still have money for whichever sound card you want.

95W TDP will go out the window once you start OC'ing, but yes in theory it should be a little more forgiving. Personally I would get the Zosma just for the lower TDP, and better OC potential, it's only $20 difference.

Alright, alright. I suppose it's the 955 then!

Not to mention I don't want to spend a ton on cooling. Even though this Scythe Ultra Kaze I have moves a good amount of air. And I have a front intake fan on my Centurion 5, although it's only an 80mm.

I can always slightly overclock the 955 too. Don't know if "slightly overclocking" is even worth it or makes a different in performance.

GAH! I am so excited for my new MOBO and GPU to get here!

Since it's the BE, you can just raise the multiplier to the speed of the 965 if you want, and you'll be fine with your Scythe CPU cooler, even if it's not the best.

You'll probably be more limited by the GPU in many games, to the point where OC'ing your CPU will make little to no difference honestly.

Why would I be limited? My display isn't that big... and to be honest, "High" settings are good enough for me. I don't need "Ultra".

I've also read tons of reviews that say the GTX 560 kicks ass for a mid-range card.

I'm just saying that's where the limiting factor for performance is going to be, at your GPU. A phenom II x4 955 at stock shouldn't bottleneck a gtx560 at all, therefore your limiting factor will be your GPU.

I got ya. Well, thanks for your help guys. I appreciate it. Hopefully this build turns out how I'd like, which I'm sure it will. I hope all the components I'm putting together work well together. I've spent a lot of time asking questions and researching so I am confident in my judgement and the judgement of the OCN community. Hahah. Also I hope when I do the math, I saved on building my own instead of buying prebuilt.

I just sold my old computer yesterday for 250, so I am subtracting that from the total cost.
