Fanless PSU under 100$

Hi guys! I'm working on building a little HTPC with some remaining part I have around. I want this to be as quiet as possible, so I'll be using a 2.5" HDD and a big Shuriken as CPU cooler. I'm planning on putting a fanless VGA cooler on my old GT240.
But...now comes the power supply. I want it to be as quiet as possible, possibly noiseless if I can find one under 100$. The only fanless PSU I found are way too expensive. I won't need more than 250-300w (I'm using an Athlon II 435 2.9ghz).
Anyone knows other fanless PSU out there (or maybe extremely quiet)?

I'm afraid there is no such thing. If you were buying all new parts, I'd say get low consumption parts (e.g. Core i3 2100T, no video card, etc.) and get a PicoPSU, but I don't know that that would work with the setup you have in mind. Although it might. If you don't already have a motherboard, get one with integrated video and you won't need that GT 240 then. Then a PicoPSU would be fine.

Seasonic X400, you won't find anything else worthwhile below 100$

Well it's sad I can't find anything like that, I just mesured the power consumption and I have about 175w at the plug while folding, using a super cheap (25$ shellshocker) "680w" Sunbeamtech PSU. And there's a lot of heat coming out of it :/

Due to poor efficiency, your rig isn't using more than 120W, the rest is put out as heat.

Get an Aurum 400 from newegg, at ~70$ is the best solution commonly available in NA for that type of setup.

But Aurum is a relatively poor choice for low noise, right? When's Rosewill Capstone (SF Golden Green) coming out? 160W PicoPSU would probably work, but that's around $100 with the brick.

Well since I'll still be at a certain distance of the computer, I decided to take the psu in my girlfriend's computer. It' a Xigmatek 400w with a 140mm fan and it's very quiet .

Farewell fanless PSU...

Note : take a look at this system, a good 400w psu can do wonders

No info on the Capstone release date, as for the Aurum noise issue, they use a poor fan controller, but with loads up to 200W is almost inaudible and this scenario is no different.

I would check how much a Alienware Laptop PSU would cost you and go really small Micro ATX
