Mice seem to jitter on my mousepad

Thread Starter
I had a logitech g5 and steelseries qck mouse pad. I noticed my cursor was jittering and jumping around a little. So I bought a g500, but it does the same thing... I take it off the mousepad and it works fine.

Is it normal for a mousepad to do this? Can anyone recommend me a clothe replacement?

I will give the mousepad a clean. Is there a best way to do this?

Maybe just use the vacuum cleaner, generally when I have jitter issues there's a piece of cat fur stuck in the laser hole on the bottom of my mouse and I just blow it out.

Also, lets rule everything out here, hold your hand out infront of you...
it may always be your hand tongue.gif

I'm not sure if there's a "best" way.. but I'll just post my backwards way of cleaning cloth pads tongue.gif
  1. Wet the entire mousepad top
  2. Get some baby wash soap [it's super mild with no fancy stuff]
  3. Lather some of the baby soap on your hands and massage the pad until it's nice and soapy
  4. Let it sit all soap-ed up for about 2-5 minutes
  5. Wash the pad out with water, gently rub the pad with your hands to get all the soap out
  6. Verify all the soap is out and all you have is a wet pad
  7. Turn on the dryer to it gets nice and toasty in there.
  8. Once the dryer is warm and toasty, put the pad in there and let it dry [don't turn the dryer on, just leave it off, the heat will dry the pad].
  9. Enjoy a clean pad biggrin.gif

maybe there are some bumps on the desk... the sensor cnt feel them without the mousepad on maybe. a qck mass/heavy would be the solution, since they are 3x thicker

I wash my cloth pads in the washing machine with no soap and let it air dry outside.

Yeah I honestly did not like my Qck Heavy. I'm not sure if I experienced the same thing as you, I just know it didn't feel right. I switched to Artisan and never looked back. Well I am still using my Qck. I cut it up, glued it together and am using it as a wrist rest for my keyboard smile.gif
