What your seeing when you look though a scope is "normal". It happends with everyone's game's on select levels. We can just say its a known glitch.

try a little more voltage yeh. but still even if you cant run your core clock above 880 YOU HAVE A GREAT CARD FOR THE MONEY biggrin.gif

it may be a bit of a bug i suppose but im pretty sure ive experienced it in many games throughout the years. when you zoom in you might be giving the graphics card more detail to render depending on the game engine. like if its rendering everything you would see without being zoomed in, then on top of that rendering distant objects at greater detail when you are zoomed so that you dont get weird popups when you come out of the scoped view. something like that maybe....

You got the dual fan sapphire 6950? If so have you tried dropping the memory to 1350? Reason I ask is because I have two of these, and my brother has one and we have noticed that all 3 of them like to run at 1350 on the memory (1360 max even with higher voltage) and depending on voltage the Gpu clocks vary from 900 to 970 max.
I'm running one of these at the minute at 900/1350 @ 1.115v and it runs like a dream smile.gif

EDIT: I forgot to mention, all 3 cards unlocked shaders with a flip of the switch - All Cayman.

I got my toxic 6950 in yesterday and tried everything I could to unlock the shaders, but it didn't happen. It sucks that I sent in a reference 6950 that was unlocked for RMA and they gave me back a card that won't unlock, but I guess I should just be happy I have a working card that doesn't make awful fan noises.

It seems to be stable at those clocks at stock volts which is pretty cool, it certainly overclocks much better than my reference.

I have a question for you. I'm about to give my mobo and CPU to the wife and pick up an i5 2500k and the exact same mobo you picked up. was it worth it? did the i5 open up the TOXIC? or did frame's stay the same for the most part?

I only experiance sniping problem on Caspian Boreder, and in skyrim the only time my frams dip from perfect is looking at the tree in white run...the shadow's on that thing must be insane!

yeh i think the 2500K gave the toxic a lot more room to breathe. Skyrim just seems to pretty much just play smooth as hell almost constantly with all settings on highest an 4xAA and FXAA (haven't tried with 8xAA yet). BF3 definitely shows some nice improvements, especially on the B2K maps which gaveme a lot of trouble with the 955. While the BF3 improvements haven't been massive, they have certainly been noticeable and im glad i upgraded! The only trouble now though is trying to get my CPU past 4.1Ghz frown.gif I have a thread here about it if anyone can help?? - http://www.overclock.net/t/1202566/can-anyone-help-me-get-my-2500k-past-4-1ghz#post_16236720

No probs. If you up the voltage you can take the clock up to 960 - 970 obviously this varies from card to card.
I find that 900/1350 @1.115v is perfect and stable in all games whilst keeping the temps really low (setup a nice custom fan profile). Card rarely goes above 67c!
