Even within this thread, we've gotten a coupe different answers ... at least one or more people got new/refurbished TOXIC HD-6950's back ... at least one got back the DUAL FAN DUAL BIOS HD-6970 ... and at this late stage you may even get a 7000's series back in an RMA, you never know, depends on what they have on hand at the time, how nice the Customer Service Rep is on the other end, and how nice you are to them  headsetsmiley.png  GOOD LUCK thumb.gif

Hopin for the 7000's series biggrin.gif, thanks a lot man. I quite sad though, this card overclocked like a beast and never went past 65c, no idea how it just died all of a sudden confused.gif

So thankfully the RMA center is 20 minutes away from my house so they received my Toxic a day after I sent it. Got an email today saying I'm being upgraded to a sapphire 6970 2GB, so that means I still get to be apart of this club! biggrin.gif

no, its the version that looks exactly like the toxic 6950 but with no hooded dude printed on the card

Edit: btw why would getting the dual fan model suck? Is it slower than the 6950?

Thats good, that card will clock very good and have a better voltage range adjustment than the non-toxic versions.

Yes, the non toxic versions have a limited voltage increase range 1.175? in trixx, and ZERO voltage adjustment in other GPU tweak utilities *cough*afterburner*cough* thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif
There is a model that has a standard voltage of 1.2 but not sure if you can raise voltage to 1.3 in trixx ?

Tyreal,

The 11187-03_HD6970_2GBGDDR5_2miniDP_HDMI_2DVI_PCIE_FBC_634548147782805585_600_600.jpg HD-6970 DUAL FAN DUAL BIOS card is actually a great card should he get that one too ...  http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1041&pid=1353&psn=&lid=1&leg=0

The new SAPPHIRE HD 6970 has the same internal architecture as the standard model, with 1536 stream processors and 96 texture processing units, and clock speeds are 880MHz for the core and 1375Mhz (5.5Gb/sec effective) for the 2GB of GDDR5 memory. This new design has two 90mm fans with thin impellers that can move the same amount of air at 10% lower rotation speeds than conventional fans, keeping noise low, and their special dust repelling bearings contribute to high reliability.

With the Dual BIOs set to the standard position, the Dual fans keep this model quiet and up to 25% cooler than the standard model even under load conditions. With the BIOS switched to the performance setting, the core voltage of the GPU is raised to 1.2V, the fan speed is set to a high performance profile and the powertune adjustment for overclocking is raised to 50% allowing the user to maximise performance of the card by increasing clock speeds either with AMD Overdrive or with SAPPHIRE TriXX up to a ceiling of 1500MHz core, 2000MHz memory

I'd be happy with it ...

or this one ...
