that mod seems alota hard work aand im a lazy arse :/.. and sirwooties whats your temps vs your clocks? due to the fact my stats on the card are 930/1350/1536 also about the tape.. i'd be using my IC diamond on the core and what's giving to me for the mem, and i know i've already tried taking that out to see if i can repair the fan and just gave up :/

BTW ... don't know when the last time people checked, but there's been an updated release of Sapphire's TriXX ... version 4.3.0

It now has the option to save the Customized Fan settings with a profile and load them at startup, no more resetting them everytime you start up your computer thumb.gif

though it looks like they took away the GPU overvolting support for our SAPPHIRE HD6950 and HD6970 Toxic ? that was in Version 3.0.4 that I was using before ? mad.gif

and replaced it with a POWERTUNE +/- slider ? doh.gif

I used to have that problem before I reninstalled my os, and then it went away even though I didn't have that checked. Wierd.

OK I officially don't like this new # 4.3.0 version of Sapphire's TriXX ... or I'm assuming it's that, maybe it's AMD's 12.8 CCC as I upgarded both about the same time, but anyways ... it's wrecked havock with my old Fan Profile, and made my cards Temps jump about 10 or more degree's from before ... I was at 36c Idle / 78c Load @ 70% Fan ... while now I seem to be running about 50c Idle / 80-90c Load at 80% Fan ... or does maybe the thermal grease on the GPU dry out and get old after a year and half and need a re-application ? headscratch.gif

Anyway ... does anyone remember the OLD TriXX version # we used before ? I think it was TriXX OC Utility beta v # 3.0.4 , and I want to DOWNGRADE and go back to it, even though it seeming lacked the FAN Profile save ? but this newer combo has caused my screen to lock up and BSOD a couple times recently and for some odd reason showed my GPU clock speed @ like 445 GHz in a recent 3DMark11 run I did ... *** happened ?  doh.gif

I updated my GPU Driver's and the S*** hit the fan. I cannot get Catalyst Control to open after the update.. Might try rolling back a gen on CC and see if that fix's it.

Dunno. I started having the fan problem where I have to select the fan ramp every damn time I start windows when I went from 12.1 to 12.8.

I had that same problem a while back which was part of why I am afraid of upgrading drivers. Ended up solving it by pulling out my windows disc. :(

This is my "Angery Nerd Face"...... although to be honest it couldn't have happened at a better time. I need to RMA my ASUS mobo anyway. Look's like I have an excuse to get a 256gb SSD boot drive and clean install. Silly driver's, I rarely have problems like this too lol.
