Hey LA I'm not sure if this is of much use to you or even that relevant to your problem but there is a section about BSOD 124's on the Sandy Stable club (Which has a great guide I read through many times while OC'ing my CPU). Here is a link to that section: http://www.overclock.net/t/1120291/solving-fixing-bsod-124-on-sandybridge-read-op-first
Also you might want to check your BSOD history with this: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

Hope it's of some help!

Hi ET900 ...  thanks for the linkstongue.gif yeah I was actually reading through munaim1 's Sandy Stable Club to try and gain some knowledge and help trying to figure out if it was my OC, and I saw that BSOD 0x124 link within it and began to read it also.  I recently did a fresh install of WIN 7 and am I the middle of working on Sean Webster 's "Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs' trying to get my Crucial M4's set up properly and in the process decided to finally upgrade the BIOS on my Asus ROG Max IV Gene Z68 motherboard for the first time, and all the other drivers, etc. and well it has obviously wrecked havok with my OLD OC settings that seemed to be stable but then I never really pushed this rig through any extensive benchmarking / stress testing to see if I was 100% stable but I guess just these minute voltage changes in the BIOS have resulted in my BSOD's I'm getting everytime I play COD4 right now madsmiley.png.

Oh well ... it just reminds me that even though I learned a FAIR amount with my first complete Computer build here, that I'm still such a NOOB redface.gif when it comes to all this, and that I've got a ton more to learn tongue.gif ... trial and error, hopefully one day soon I get everything stable before it's time to replace it all again, I wanted this system to last me about 4-5 years but dang time flies, it's already been a year and half and I'm kinda back to square one again almost ... LOL ... sigh. confusedsmiley.png

Yeh I wasn't sure if that guide was relative to your setup but thought maybe those blue screen codes mean pretty much the same thing whatever the platform. Maybe you should run some p95. As far as I know chips degrade over time and require more volts to hold up the overclock. I know what you mean with the lifetime thing. I was very happy with what was pretty much a 2008 setup I had built, until bf3 and skyrim came out that is. Then I just wanted more and more juice and ended up with my current rig lol. I hope to keep the core of this setup for 2-3 more years. I think I'll get an SSD at some point this year and then maybe another 670/680 in a year or so when this one starts to get tested a bit. But that's just what I say now lol........
