Small update regarding the Sapphire 6970 Blue PCB, hopefully this helps anyone looking to purchase this card.

Feel free to use the pictures or add a link to this somewhere in the club page LA.

6950 Toxic vs. 6970 Blue PCB (100311-2SR)

It turns out that the two PCBs are almost identical, except the 6970 PCB is missing a driver and something I cannot identify. However, you will be happy to know that it has not hindered overclocking performance. Each card was run separately (not in crossfire) through the same benchmarks in my review with the same setup with the exception of the higher CPU clocks I used this time (3.8GHz vs. 3.5GHz).

6970 (100311-2SR) - 950/1500 @ 1.175V
6950 Toxic - 950/1450 @ 1.175V

In crossfire however, I get screen tearing and splitting @ 950/1450 in Heaven's benchmark and Battlefield 3 and it crashes in furmark.

If you want to see your FPS in BF3 you don't need to run FRAPS.

Just press `(~) key and type

Draw.FPS 1

Im working on modding my case and was wondering if any of you guys have had one of these cards apart? Can you pull off just the plastic housing or does everything come off with it ?
Im wanting to pull the covers off and do some carbon fiber vinyl in white.

What do you mean it is missing a driver for the 6970? Did you mean to say BIOS? Also, do you know if there will also be a BIOS fix released for the blue pcb 6970? Mine doesn't even hit stock clocks due to the PowerTune throttling when set at 0. I have to up it to 20-25% in order to give it more room to breathe, esp when I'm OCing it up to 955/1500.

Yeah ... if you look at the PCB's you'll notice your 6970 doesn't have the DUAL BIOS Switch, no need for it to be honest anyways, but that means your card only has the SINGLE BIOS on the card, thus I'd assume THAT is the little extra Black 'CHIP' in OrangeBunnies Pic inside that one RED BOX ?

It seems to work for me. My FPS has gone up a bit in BF3. I am playing on full ultra(everything, multi, AA, HBAO). I get about 45-55 on avrage, every now and then it will dip to 35. However its smooth as SILK! if I was not running FRAPS to see my FPS I would assume its at 50+ FPS most of the time. For what its worth I use Vsync with my current clocks, I see temps of around 43-45c idle, and at the most I have seen 57c while gaming. stock voltage's. good luck on your OC.
hit the ` key in BF3

start typing render in the console, and it'll be something like render.showfps boolean, so type render.showfps 1 and it'll put the FPS counter in the top right corner. no need for fraps.
