That is an absourd amount of power for your set up.

EDIT: here is a total rig power consumption with the TOXIC's in XFIRE Here.

If you would like I can find others saying the same thing;)

I really would not worry about it.

Thanks for the info, but despite that I'm still having stuttering issues in several games with it in crossfire that I did not experience using my friend's reference 6970 in crossfire. Plus with the recent announcement of the 28nm chips doubling in performance I'm reconsidering the waiting game!

Since you have the same missing pins it's safe to assume it's just a modified BIOS and not something overlooked so others will not have to worry about it. smile.gif

This was what I was thinking ... it's the Chip that holds the 2nd BIOS on the TOXIC cards, since the HD-6970 doesn't HAVE a 2nd bios, no need for the chip or solder pins, etc. to wire it up to the card.

Just something I am thinking about, please advise. First about monitors, I have a Viewsonic P225F-b and a g90fb. These are great monitors but I think I like the thinner LCD's like a Samsung 950 or 750. I mostly play just FPS and was wondering if I will notice a big difference if I would switch to the Samsung's or Asus's version of 120Hz monitors? Second question is should I get another 6950 Toxic if I go Eyefinity or just hold off for the 7000 series? As we are waiting for the new bios we can talk about my situation now smile.gif

Made a variation of the sig if anyone is interested

Also...I am concerned with the current driver issue...it is giving me pause. I am still planning on purchasing a Toxic when they are in stock...Although, I am getting cold feet from Sapphire support passing the buck concerning the drivers.
I may just go for the 6970...it just seems like a huge waste of money...gah...this sucks lol!
