Sapphire TOXIC HD-6950/70 Owners Club & Informational Thread - Page 71

After further thought, gamespeeder, I bet your graphics card(s) just unlock but with rendering errors. Try flipping the switch back to stock and see if it works right. It's a shame, but I can almost guarantee that's what happened.

He could now just overclock 10% and theoretically make up the performance. Nice job on the troubleshooting there dude thumb.gif +rep

Interesting note ...

NewEgg got in at least a few new TOXIC's today !!! already gone and OOS again of course, but this means they may not be gone forever afterall thumb.gif

I got a PM from someone here on OCN about it, said they were back in stock and he was going to buy one, but he waited, and 2 hours later OOS again, DO NOT WAIT, if you want one BUY IT ! but I noticed the TOXIC is back from the DEACTIVATED LIST at least so there's hope again winksmiley.jpg

Yeah when I wanted to get the toxic it was deactivated by the time I got the money, so I went with msi's tf3. Big mistake that was. Glad I now have a toxic. Definitely got to agree: jump on it if you see it.

Do you mean increase the Core clock from 880 to 968 and the Memory clock from 1300 to 1430 in TRIXX?

I read on the first page of this thread that you cannot go back to the original bios just by flipping the switches back to the original position. It sounds like it would not change or may corrupt the bios.

Here are my screen shots that show TRIXX with a GPU voltage of 1.181. In addition, I noticed that both cards have the exact same GPU voltage and temp but different fan speeds. Could it be that TRIXX set the top card to 1.181 and the bottom card is still 1.75 even though TRIXX says it is 1.181?

Alright don't do any overclocking yet. This is what you need to try first. Set both the voltages to 1.81/1.19/1.2 on both cards and confirm using gpu-z. Do not open CCC after setting the voltages as it has a bad habit of resetting voltages. If this does not work, flip both the bios switches back to stock. It will turn the shaders back to stock, unless you flashed the first bios. Also, it looks like you can go much higher than 1.181 volts, as the slider is at the bottom not at the top. Also, please post images directly to this tread as they are very small on imageshack.

Where'd you read that ? headscratch.gif THAT is EXACTLY what the DUAL BIOS switch on the Card IS for ! ... Position #1 always remains your Factory Safety back-up BIOS and position #2 is your experimental BIOS to attempt the Shader unlocks and to play around with FLASHING the card IF you want to, no real NEED to since Sapphire put the unlocked shaders already on Bios #2 from the factory, but as we've debated, maybe it's an option for SOME to try and install a true full 6970 bios like maybe that New Dual Bios/Dual Fan card's Bios from Sapphire.
