Hi I need some thoughts on either getting a second 6950 toxic card or wait to get one of the newer 7900 series cards. I hope that these 7000 series GPUs don't turn out to be like the bulldozer CPUs.

Um... the reviews are out and well, they kick ass. But, still get a toxic if you can find. The 7970 gives you ~10-30% more performance and the 2nd toxic gives ~80-100% more performance in most games.

Reviews are out already? Cool. I am gonna get a second toxic card then. There were some in Canada Computers but they got sold out pretty fast.

The  Results = Total of 118 Toxic Cards / 89 claimed UnLocks / 17 Locked / 12 UnKnowns = Succesful UnLock Rate of 75% (would be 85% if the 12 unknows unlocked ?)
Granted I know you have to take NewEgg reviews with a grain of salt because they may not always be truthful, though I did see a lot of names from Our Toxic Club over there smile.gif , but the numbers match up fairly well and close to what I have in post #879

Anyways I doubt the results suprise anyone here, but it's nice to get a bit more reinforcement ... The TOXIC is / was the best HD-6950 card to get ... PERIOD !

yeh thats cool. these certainly are the best 6950's going smile.gif so glad i got mine but only frustrated that something else in my system is holding mine back! i dont get nowhere as good results as what the rest of you lot seem to get in here! payday is on the 9th though and i will be buying a 2500k OC bundle so im pretty sure that should iron out any problems! biggrin.gif

There should be no bottleneck with a single GPU set up and your CPU, even with my CPU at stock and my card OC'ed I still cant get it to bottleneck, add in a second card and its a totaly different story.

my cpu does max out when gaming though, but so does my gpu so meh :/ i think it may be my ram as its corsair value select lol. im not to sure exactly but i will be so suprised if i dont get better and more consistent fps when i upgrade! cant keep this 955 forever anyways and im not liking the look of the upgrade path with amd so far so its time to switch!
