No worries. They say the 11.11 cap 3 or 4 (I don't remember) and the 11.12 cap1 have the best bf3 performance.

i think 11.11c had the best bf3 performance so far. 11.12 were crap for me on bf3. 11.12 had optimizations from 11.11c removed, but 12.1 are a combination of 11.11c and 11.12. i use 12.1 because they perform nearly as well, or maybe just as good as 11.11c on bf3, but they are better on skyrim than 11.11c.

basically i recommend using 12.1 unless you have luck with 12.1a. its worth reading the release notes on 12.1 to see what im talking about: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/Catalyst121Previewdriver.aspx

I use 12.1 but didn't know a lot of that optimization stuff and had thought about going back to 11.11c. Thanks for the info. REP+

on my unlocked 6950 i cant lpay bf3 with any overclock. everything is maxed except AA its on low. the game looks crazy good but sniping makes it look like tetris lol things become so laggy on operation firestorm. why is this ? i used to be able to snipe far maybe its cuz im using 12x sopes across maps now but idk the frames drop to 20 ! using 11.12 i think

what are people getting in bf3 using 6950's ? it has to stay at stock cuz no overclock will work lol i7 870 8gig ram

I've go it absolutely, maxed but that's just cuz I'm graphics OCD. I do also see drops in the 20's when scoping on certain maps.

i run bf3 with everything on high, 2xmsaa, low post process aa, 50% motion blur, 16xaf and vsync @ 1920x1080. currently running my cpu at 4ghz and the 6950 unlocked @ 930/1375. i get a varied experience. generally pretty smooth staying at 50-60fps on the standard maps with exceptions taking me down to the low 30's sometimes. on the b2k maps its really variable but probly sits around 45-50fps a lot of the time and drops down to low 30's at times. ive barely played as sniper since ive had the game so not sure what the effect is but i remember before my cpu upgrade when i played sniper last, the framerate got pretty horrible when scoping in on an area with a lot going on or a lot of detail in the environment.

there are some settings you can turn down to medium to get an fps boost which wont have to much of a bad impact on the image quality so maybe give it a go. just try to keep textues and effects on high if you can cos they are the ones you see degrade the most when you turn things down. effects is probably the one i would keep on high if i could only have one thing on high. i love all the blur, shaking and smoke/dust you get from it

before i got my 2500k and i had a 955 i couldn't even play this game smooth with everything on medium and no msaa when it came to the b2k maps. you have an i7 870 - aren't they a little less powerful than an amd 955? dont flame me if im wrong people, not that clued up on intel cpu's yet lol! if thats the case you probably wanna think about a cpu oc/upgrade.

everyones different but i always value a good minimum framerate over max eye candy. i try get a nicely tuned mix. after all - what good is an fps when your frames are juddering about all over the place? it just becomes a horribley frustrating experience. you could probably just take all the ultra settings off and use high. will still look sweet and give you a nice frame boost also i got a much better framerate using 12.1 over 11.12 so try that!

Huh. I have my 955 @ stock and run it absolute maxed and can still play ok. And I think the 870 is a lot faster when overclocked, but idk about stock.
