SLI slower than single?

3DMark06

CPU - 3.825GHz
GPU - 1000/2000/2100
Driver - 285.38
Score - 20,360

CPU - 3.659GHz
GPU SLI - 880/1760/2100
Driver - 275.33
Score - 19,887

Isn't there something wrong with this? Or are the overclocks and different drivers enough to make that gap?

I definitely would say that due to your CPU being clocked differently for the tests as well as using Beta drivers for the single GPU run compared to the older less optimised drivers that there would be a difference.

See if you can run the tests again with the same CPU overclock and same drivers to see whether or not your SLI setup has problems.

3d06 isn't the best bench for comparing single & sli, it really doesn't scale with multi gpu, a well overclocked single card can frequently beat lower clocked sli.
3dmark 03, vantage or 11 would be better to see the difference sli makes in benchies.

if ive learnt anything in year 10 science, is that your test results are not valid for comparing with each other, clocks and drivers should be EXACTLY the same for tests with SLI

OK drivers and OCs are the same, but only a 477 point difference. Is that expected/normal?

Run 3d mark 11 you will see a much bigger difference.
