Carrying around one device is not the norm. In America it may tend to be, but if you've ever been to Europe, Asia, or even Canada most people carry bags - because they also have a laptop, a camera, a tablet, ect.

All-in-one devices have never been of the quality it is trying to replicate. The camera on a smart phone will never match the quality of a high-end Nikon camera. It's simply not possible in small form factors. For writers, a smart phone will never match the efficiency of a laptop. For gamers, a smart phone will never match the experience of a dedicated gaming handheld.

I'm a gamer and my phone does fill my gaming urge. Carrying around a high end camera puts limits on yourself. Sure you'll bring it for any serious photo related events. But on a typical day your probably not going to have it. Instead, what you will have is your phone. I suppose you could carry around a bag with your camera, gaming handheld and laptop in it if you really needed to. I can't afford to replace that all at once so I am not going to be carrying it all around with me, not to mention the weight and always having to keep an eye on it. Oh, and writers can get down some pretty nice ideas on a phone pretty easily and they can expend on those ideas later on. Though I'm getting way off course here.

What about RPG's? That is the only area that my PS3 has been a disappointment. I don't like playing games like drake on a handheld because I'm usually playing handheld games in public with lots of distractions and that kind of ruins those type of games for me.

Complete opposite for me, but that might be because my phone isn't high-end and hardly supported in apps/games besides angry birds and fruit ninja. The most I could get from it was a NES emulator, which runs but has a terrible touch-screen interface when it could have been keyed to actual buttons. I live with a bag on me almost all the time, but I can easily see why it would be problematic. As for writing, I can't do much on my phone as I can on paper or a laptop, although the phone is more accessible anywhere.

Hey Vita!

Once you can stick the FULL copy of Gran Turismo 4 on yourself, I'll shell out.

I want this solely for all the JRPG's released on the PSP. I think the first game I buy with it will be the Tactics Ogre remake.

Yeah its a great game and I love all the rpgs that have come out on the psp Ive tried the metal gear games or other action games on the psp and it doesn't feel right. Hopefully vita will change the control discomfort and I'l be able to enjoy both action games and rpgs in the future.
