H70 High Temps i7 940 c0

Thread Starter
Hi there I have an i7 940 c0 and just installed the h70 and just wondering if my temps are normal or high. My i7 940 c0 is overclocked to 3.6ghz with 1.26v and under full load it hits 79-81. I also replaced the stock fans with Noctua p12's exhausting out of the case if that makes a difference. Thanks

Click on either "AMD/ATI" or "NVIDIA". At the top of the list of threads is a button that reads, "NEW THREAD".

What is the temperature of the inside of the case, and the temperature of the room your computer is in? My 960 idles 55-60C (load temp is in the 80's) after reseating it with AS5 three times, but I'm using the stock cooler and my room is 30-35C.

You can always try turning up your A.C. (if possible) and mount the H70 as an intake so cold air moves across the radiator. Also, if you have extra TIM, it wouldn't hurt to take another shot at re-mounting the block to the CPU.

thanks for the help Eiko, but if someone with a similar setup to me could let me know if everything is normal or not that would be great. Thanks

Those temps seem odd, but I'm not sure if I can blame the H70. I'm at high altitude and my room is at least 75F. I ran my i7 920 @ 4.0 GHz with 1.425V and temps never touched 80C with Prime95 Large FFTs or Blend. Currently, I'm running my 920 C0 @ 1.23125V and my load temps are well under 60C. Running World Community Grid, my lowest core is 50C and highest is 55C. I'm also running two Scythe UKs @ ~2250 RPMs in push/pull with shrouds, but that only dropped the temps a few degrees.

I also have mine set up as exhaust and am getting these great temps. PM me if you have any specific questions relating to this. The H70 and H80 are pretty similar.
