Need some help reinstalling W7 after deleting RAID

Hello everyone,

I made another thread here [http://www.overclock.net/hard-drives...se-disks.html] asking people for suggestions on how to go about my W7 reinstall.

Basically I had 4 devices connected to my SATA ports:
Port 0: 1.5TB Samsung
Port 1: ODD
Port 2: 1TB Caviar Blue
Port 3: 1TB Caviar Blue

In the BIOS I had these four ports set to RAID and I had the 2 Caviar Blues in RAID 0. I could boot from the Samsung just fine and get into windows.

So I decided I don't need the RAID 0 array anymore and I want to install W7 and programs onto one of the Caviar Blues, with another one for games/docs and the Samsung for backups/other storage.

So I backed up all my important files onto an external HDD, rebooted and went into the BIOS. I switched the mode from RAID to AHCI for the 4 SATA ports and set the boot device to the ODD, which had the W7 disc in it.

I boot from that and am presented with a list of drives that I can install onto, and the only drives present in the list are the Samsung and it's 100MB system partition (which was created on my last install). The Caviar Blues are not on the list, so I navigate to my USB drive with the AHCI drivers on it, load them and click next. It reads them and shows me the disk selection screen again. The Caviar Blues still aren't there.

I exited the W7 installation and decided to boot back into windows from the Samsung with AHCI still on. That failed and I had to set it back to IDE for it to boot. The Caviar Blues showed up in Windows fine and I formatted them in disk manager.

Rebooted, went back into BIOS and set the SATA mode back to AHCI. Booted from ODD again and got to the disk selection screen. Loaded drivers from USB. Still no Caviar Blues in the list.

How do I get them to show up in the list? Did I not delete the RAID properly? Did I not load the AHCI drivers properly? Do I need to install AHCI drivers in my current installation of Windows to get them to show up in the re-installation? Do I need to delete the current RAID drivers? I'm lost and need some help.

You didn't delete the RAID properly.

You disabled the drives in the BIOS but they're still configured for RAID 0 which explains why the OS installer doesn't see them.

Format the drives and re-initialize and everything should be good to go.

How exactly do I do that?

What I have done is:
- Turned off computer with RAID 0 still configured.
- Turned back on, entered RAID setup, deleted the RAID entry.
- Changed SATA mode from RAID to IDE in BIOS.
- Booted into W7, formatted single drives in disk manager.

Isn't that how I'm supposed to do it? What did I do wrong? The two disks are showing up separately in disk manager, but one of them is offline due to a 'signature collision with another disk that is online'.
