Suggestions October 2011 Build

Thread Starter
Hi guys. I haven't been on here for a while but I'm about to build a new system and I wanted to see what you guys think about this build. The idea is to get the most reliable parts for a mid-high end build. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will be ordering soon. I do not need OS, hard drive, keyboard, mouse, display. This will all be installed in a media center case to go with my tv.

Dave

Looks good, but I would go for a Corsair PSU instead, personal opinion.

What was the intended use?

Looks good, though I'd change the PSU to either a Corsair or OCZ modular PSU (have had great experiences with both). Was able to get a 600W OCZ modular PSU for $40 after rebates

wait 2-3 month for all the new iteration of cpu's and gpu's. They will drive prices down, so you can build a better machine.

You can get a HD6850 for the same price as that 6790.

HTPC case?

Are you planning on using this just for a media center or also for games? If it is for the prior then it is some serious overkill.

I personally recommend the CoolerMaster Silent Pro 850W

I know people here are iffy on CoolerMaster's but it is a really good price and gives you room for expansion if you decide to start SLI/Xfire. There are a lot of good reviews on it, I did a lot of research on it.
