PSU help please.

Thread Starter
Hi guys. I just bought a EVGA GTX 580. I'm just looking for an overall decent PSU that would be able to handle the 580. I don't do any overclocking and I don't want to Sli.

This is the current PSU I have - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...=ITD&body=MAIN

Do I even need a new PSU to run the 580?

If I need a new PSU will this one be good enough? - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...0CMPSU-750TXV2

I assume you mean GTX 580? I think you'll be okay considering my HX620 can handle a 580.

My bad. A little tired here. I just don't want to damage my computer/graphics card by not having the recommended amps..

Are you referring to my current PSU being more than enough?

your psu is an over kill. But I like high quality psu's . I am a seasonic fanboy to the core but corsair is basically the same thing. a quality 500 to 650 watt. If you feel you want a new psu. But you have plenty. If you do check out the seasonic golds. Catch one on sale like I did for $99 and free shipping. PSU is the most important component in a PC to me. If it goes, it could do some damage. Just my opinion. OC has much more qualified psu folks for advise.

Your current PSU is utter ****, it's made by one of the countless Chinese offenders called RuiSheng Yuan.

However, you don't need to spend 100$ on a PSU for a single GTX 580, I suggest this Antec HCG 620 which @ 50$ makes a fantastic deal.
