Q6600 running "hot" - 48c idle, 60c load - Page 3

Keep in mind that I am running stock clock @ 2.4 GHz

I'm not really worried about it, but I'm just wandering if I could get better performance if it was running cooler (since the CPU scales back performance at "hot" temps).

Just wanting to get the most performance out of my "new" CPU
Trust me on this one, for proper temps, please set the TjMax to 90C on your G0.

Sounds about average temps for using he stock cooler, those guys run hot but well. Would of liked mine to hit 3.6 GHz stable :/

Right. Trying to change TJMax through CoreTemp manually through the .ini config, but for some reason it cannot save the file
"Cannot save....file
Make sure that the path and file name are correct"

So....Basically the deal is that my temps are actually 10c cooler than what is listed in core temp (since the TJMAX is incorrectly set to 100c). Nice.

Yea those temps are fine. If you feel it's too high for your liking just replace the heat sink.

Anyone have experience, is it worth it/mostly stable for the Q6600?
From my experience with clockgen I wouldn't think it's worth it.
In most cases it's unstable and theirs a chance you will get a audio bug which is what I've had happen with 3 system so far where the audio sounds normal in games but just cuts off before the character finishes his/her sentence.

If you really want to overclock you could buy another board.

Under 100% load for me, My lowest temp is 68C while my highest is 85-86C on core 0. That is with an aftermarket cooler. My B3 chip isn't really a good chip I would say so myself . Your temps are fine.

I let my stock clocked Q6600 get up to about 70° under a full load, but it is a media machine so it doesn't get that hot often. I have the CPU fan set to only go to the point where you just start to be able to hear it if you listen for it. The only time it even hits the max speed is when I am running a PS2 emulator on it and since it is only really one core in use it doesn't get that hot then either
